Hi frends, I have applied for SET(0) for myself and FLR (M) for my wife on 13/10/2011, still waiting for our passports. We thought of going home during xmas break, but as our passports haven't come yet, we couldnt go anywhere..Still waiting since Oct-2011.

I have updated my case in Set O JR application, Please can anyone let me know how to write an expedite letter to Home Office as i am in serious trouble because of my sister's accident recently. She is in hospital and needs care besides treatment which i am able to give her as no body in my family is from Medical background and during and after surgery i can be her best help in recovering from current situation. Any help regarding this matter will be highly appreciated as i have no idea how to write the letter. Please your help regarding this matter will be appreciated. Thanks.

Finally !! Postal ILR (SET M) granted after a torturous 16 weeks of waiting!! ILR was stamped just prior to xmas so it seems they have started posting them out after the holiday break. Sent from Liverpool, Arrived via recorded post. Got all documents back bar the application.

A massive thanks to this website - absolutely brilliant !! Thanks to all of you who post , its your contribution that make this forum what it is !! Also a massive thanks to all the moderators who do a remarkable job. A special thanks to doubletrouble for administering this waiting list too!!

I thought Set M process time was 8-11 weeks, any idea why it took so long for you?

Thanks Double, yes you are correct, most straight forward SET M ILR applications usually settle within 8-12 weeks and that's what we were anticipating too.

Considering it was stamped before xmas, it was still within their 14 weeks threshold / timescales for decision, it just took time to get to me due to the festive season.

To be honest I'd rather it takes 16 weeks to get to me and granted than 8 weeks and refused - As mentioned many times on this forum, when it comes to postal apps, you have to have patience and lots of it.

However, in hindsight, I do wish we took the PEO route for the extra £400, it would have saved all the anxiety we have suffered everyday after the 12 weeks mark.

reason for refusal, in my application i have submitted a deed poll to inform ukba of my old name to my new name, but my foreign passport hold my old name, therefore they have refused the application.

I am sorry to hear that your visa has been refused. I am not sure if this is the right thread to get the answer to your question. My suggestion is to post it somewhere else. Also can you please add your time line on the list if you felt appropriate.

New to the forum... Been watching over the last few weeks and thanks everyone for posting.

Here's my dates:

ILR Set O -5 yrs HSMP+tier 1

Sent application - 20 Oct 2011
Ack letter - 25 oct 2011
Posted letter to croydon to expedite 17 dec 2011 (due to leave for my wedding end Jan12)
MP sent letter 5 Jan 12
Still waiting ........ Very nervously .... For 11.5 weeks now.

Seeing a few sept set o applications on the list still waiting isn't looking promising for me.

Finally, but not without intervention from my MP.

SETO (Ancestry) + 4 deps

Applied: 08/08/11
Acknowledged: 12/08/11
Email to MP: 13/12/11
MP response: 15/12/11 stating UKBA are requesting further evidence of my employment status.
Phone call from UKBA caseworker 20/12/11 saying to ignore letter as application is approved.
UKBA letter dated 15/12/11 received 22/12/11 requesting 5yrs payslips - used to heat the home that night.
Passports received: 06/01/12
