Urgent- PSW fund maintainence proof

Post by var345 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 11:52 pm

After lot of struggles, I managed to get a statement from the bank in a normal sheet (not letterhead) which just shows my name, acc no and the transaction history. Then it was sealed. One seal showing it's s true copy and the signature of the person providing the document. Another seal just showing the bank name and the date. Nothing else. Is this fine?? Pls help. As most people say they got it with address and some even saying they got all the details in the letterhead. Kindly clarify asap. Thanks in advance.

If the statement doesn't have the bank's logo then it won't be accepted.

I just got the statements with the bank logo and they sealed each page. But this time, they just used a single seal which showed their bank name, branch and some number surrounding it. They told strictly that this kind of statements will not require another seal saying 'This is a true copy' etc though I tried my level best. Is that fine?
P.S: After pleasing them a lot, the cashier just put her initials next to each seal and told that true copy seal is not needed.

Kindly clarify. Thanks in advance.

I would like to add to the above points, that I didn't take a printout using online banking. I went to the bank. They guided me to a kiosk where statements can be printed with the logo and all details. I suspect it gives original copies of statements because I couldn't find any wordings like 'Unofficial' ' Copy' anywhere which I friends have, who took printouts themselves though they are having accounts with different banks.

Someone please help as there is so much confusion. As I have maintained in savings account, the statement which I got today with logo and sealed with bank/branch name/sort code (minus true copy seal) doesn't show the full accoun number. It just hides the first 4 numbers and displays the last four saying its for security reasons. But when I took the statement which I got yesterday without any logo or details and just having the name account number, transactions details, the account number s displayed properly and it is double sealed (bank seal and true copy seal). What can I do now?. Because if I go to the bank again, they will eventually provide me the same I got today. Please help.

get yourself a page from the policy guidance which states the requirement of bank statements.

go through with your bank official... the statement should satisfy each requirement.

if it doesnt, ask bank to rectify the missing thing.

ukba wants all that info and your bank should be able to supply all that.

if policy guidance doesnt mention something, then ukba is not interested in that pieceof info, so dont worry about it!

Thanks for replying Guru. I took the guidance and explained the Bank people properly. But the statements printed at the bank (online ones in a kiosk kinda thing) provides it with the first four digits of my account number hidden (It's because of security reasons.Apart from that everything is clear)..They sealed it too with their Branch name. The earlier day they gave me normal paper sheet statements (without logo) but it shows the account number clearly as its taken from their internal database and not the online ones. If I attach both and send, will they accept it?. I have ordered the original savings statements but I am not sure how it will be and when it will reach me.

i havent read policy guidance but...

do they ask you for a/c number??

chill dude... official statement takes upto 5 working days to reach...its best to use that rather than the one from kiosk!

but... i think you r overly worried bout this...

Arsenal - if you haven't read the policy guidance perhaps you shouldn't be trying to advise the OP.

Yes they do ask for the account number.

var345 - to be on the safe side, provide both statements.

what i meant was i havent seen it in last few weeks ...and dont have any inclination to learn it by heart. I know that info is mentioned in policy guidance. i told him to go look into it.I would have done it on OP's behalf if he was willing to pay me exorbitant fees. i just guided him. its upto him to find his own answers.

Thanks Guru and Greenie for your replies. I have been through the policy guidance many times. Just keeping my fingers crossed as I ordered the original statements. If it takes too late to reach, I will apply with both the statements I have as Greenie suggested. Anyway this forum is really great and helpful. Thanks again.
