Query Tier 2 Extension!

Hi,

My present tier 2 General visa will expire on 29th of January 2013 and my sponsors license will expire in 2014. Can my sponsor lissue COS for the next two years or they will have to get their license renewed before Jan-2013 before they can issue COS?
