Application for Tier-2 dependent Child Visa!!

Post by dependentquery » Tue Jan 10, 2012 1:47 pm

Hi Friends,

I got my Tier-2 General visa last week. I am thinking of applying for my spouse & child next week at the same time.

However, reading the supporting document guide for Tier-2 General, I found the following regarding application for a child,

"If you are a child, you should provide evidence of both your parents’ status in the UK to show that they are lawfully present in the UK or are being granted entry clearance or leave to remain at the same time as you. See paragraph 319H (f) of the Immigration Rules for details of this requirement"'

According to the above, does it mean that if you have a dependent child, the visa application for the main applicant & his dependants should be made together?
If this is true, How should I proceed now, since I have already obtained the Visa.

Please reply.

Kind Regards,
Vikas

No it means that the parents either need to be applying at the same time as the child, or already be lawfully present in the UK.

I don't understand why you think you can't.

Because what i understood from the below quote is both the parents have to apply at the same time with the child. And in this case as one of the parent i have already applied & obtained Visa. Hope its clear now
I am still outside UK..
Pls reply.

are you going to travel to the UK first, and then apply for the visas for your wife and child or are you going to apply for the visas, and then travel yourself?

provide evidence of your visa with your wife and child's applications and evidence of your flight to the UK.
