Subject Access Request(SAR)

Post by 2013 » Sun Jan 08, 2012 12:47 pm

I wish to use ‘Subject Access Request’ route to find my personal information maintained by UKBA. The details of requesting personal data is given in following link of UKBA site.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/navig ... onal-data/
I wish to find my SOC code and associated information through this route. I have misplaced previous year visa application details. Somehow this information is not available with my employer as well. I wish to apply tier2 visa extension in the same SOC code since there is no change in job duties. Please advice if it is safe to do so.
Can senior members advice please.
Thanks in advance.

I would be rather concerned if your employer has not kept a record of this information. What would they do if audited by UKBA? If they have access to the SMS they should be able to see your CoS from before. If they can't then try a SAR but these can take quite a few weeks

if ukba finds out, through you or by other means, that your employer doesn't have your record in hand...you are screwed along with your employer as they might revoke the sponsor license!

Thanks for your response.

Can i request SAR team to provide me information related to SOC? I will not mention why i require this data. I will just mention i wish to verify records from official source.

I do not want to fall in any confusion stage.
