Confusion on Different Reference No asked in Tier1 (General)

Post by sanchitamit » Sun Jan 08, 2012 8:54 pm

Hi All,

Need some help.

To give the context, I am already in Tier 1 (General) and got while applying WITHIN UK. My Wife got a Tier 1 (General) PARTNER visa from OUTSIDE UK.
Now both of us need to get an extension.
Confusions are as below, please suggest a right answer

MAIN Applicant's Form

B11. Home Office reference number(s) (if known): Is this the number starting with UK****** in the Initial Tier 1 visa stamp?

B12. Give details of any current or previous worker reference number(s) under work permit arrangements (if applicable):
I first came to UK in Work Permit and then switched to Tier1. In my passport on the Work Permit stamp there is a no starting with F*****. However, I also had a A4 document stating the Worker's Reference No starting with G*******. Which one is correct?

B14. Points Based System migrant reference number (if known): I didn't receive any PBS number during my initial Tier 1 application. I am not sure where this number will appear. Any Clues?

D4. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant’s passport or travel document. I had read different posts on the confusion whether this is the number in RED colour on the initial visa or the VAF number. And I guess the confusion continues.

DEPENDANT Application form
B11, B12, B14 --> As stated above in main applicant's form queries
D5 --> Which is same as D4 in main applicant's form queries.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks in Advance

MAIN Applicant's Form

B11. Home Office reference number(s) (if known): Is this the number starting with UK****** in the Initial Tier 1 visa stamp?

>> You can use the 9 digit number printed on your EC or residence permit.

B12. Give details of any current or previous worker reference number(s) under work permit arrangements (if applicable): I first came to UK in Work Permit and then switched to Tier1. In my passport on the Work Permit stamp there is a no starting with F*****. However, I also had a A4 document stating the Worker's Reference No starting with G*******. Which one is correct?

>> Worker's Reference number starting with G******* in the approval letter should be ok.

B14. Points Based System migrant reference number (if known): I didn't receive any PBS number during my initial Tier 1 application. I am not sure where this number will appear. Any Clues?

>> You can leave this blank.

D4. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant’s passport or travel document. I had read different posts on the confusion whether this is the number in RED colour on the initial visa or the VAF number. And I guess the confusion continues.

>> same as B11

DEPENDANT Application form
B11, B12, B14 --> As stated above in main applicant's form queries

>> follow as for main applicant. If in doubt leave blank.

D5 --> Which is same as D4 in main applicant's form queries.

>> same as B11

You shouldn't worry too much about it because anyway you are including your passports which has the visas stamped on it.
