i need to check them re applying 28 days before EC or date of entering however now i am very sure that it is the earlier. Just want to have a written corrospondence from them, just in case.

It's the day you entered that the clock starts so 5 years -28 days from that date. They use the EC date only if you've run out of time and you entered within 3 months of the EC. It's the time you are resident.
Ideally they would have been the same date which is why they assume the 5 year period will match. But some enter later and for that they are allowed to use the EC, with the 3 month caveat.

2.2 Applications that fall short of the five year continuous period
In some cases, applicants may have been granted 5 years continuous leave, but will not have spent 5 years continuously in the UK before their current leave expires. Caseworkers may count the period between entry clearance being granted and the date the applicant entered the UK towards the 5 years, provided this period was not longer than 3 months.

well i have come 33 days of EC so in my case if i calculate 28 days before 33 i am out of my visa.
should i be applying 28 days before EC then?

I am sure this is the email id i used just 10 days ago and I did get reply from HO.
