PSW balance went down by £ 10 for one day

Post by d.dnyanesh » Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:34 pm

Hi everybody,

I am maintaining £ 800 for PSW application. But unfortunately balance went down last week by £ 10. as soon as i noticed I put money back again. but there is 1 day shot.

My visa is expiring on 14 Feb, so i can't maintain again for more 90 days.

I have one more account in my home country(India), it has more than £100. Can I show this £10 short by giving statement of Indian bank for that day / week ?

If not, I have fixed deposit (FD) worth more than £ 2800 for more than 3 months in India. So do they accept my FD documents while applying for PSW from India ? So I can go to India before my visa expire and apply from there.

I'm waiting for your kind suggestions as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Dnyanesh

I am not sure about fixed deposits, to be honest, since you do not have "instant access" to them. My advice is to forget about using that route. Your first suggestion is the best one, you can use the bank statement in India to cover up for the £10.

However ensure that the money (£100 in India) was present in the bank account on the same day your UK account dropped by £10.

The UKBA don't require you to show the £800 from one account, it could easily be from multiple accounts. As long as they are all in your name, you should be fine.

Thanks a lot for immediate reply Wazobia.

Now I'll try to follow this route only. So to show balance in Indian account i need bank statement as well as letter from bank saying this balance was available on that date.
Am I right ?

for this Indian bank statement scanned copy is enough or shall I go for fax
etc ?

many thanks,
Dnyanesh.

neither a fax or scanned copy will be accepted you need an original.

just a bank statement showing you have the money on the relevant date is sufficient - you don't also need a letter from the bank as long as the bank statement meets the requirements as set out in the policy guidance.

What Greenie said is correct, you need an original bank statement, no faxes, photocopies, or scanned copies. You do not require a letter from the bank confirming the funds held.

Do make sure the statement has your name, account number, and date of statement.

I will advise you to read the UKBA policy guidance on PSW, and check page 19. It states the requirements to gain 10 points for maintenance
