spouse visa application - quick question

Post by keloid » Fri Jan 20, 2012 11:04 pm

Hi there.

Some advice would be appreciated.

I'm a British citizen. Married my wife a few months ago, who is an Iranian citizen.

As the Embassy in tehran is closed, we'll likely go to Turkey to apply for her spouse visa.

I understand my wife should bring her original passport. Will the Embassy in Turkey retain my wife's passport upon the application documents being submitted? If so, how can she travel out of the country?

many thanks.

Appreciate that that Embassy recently closed - but surely there have been other applicants that have applied for their spouse visa in a different country?

They may issue a travel document to travel back or even the iranian embassy. You need to consult the embassy's advice on this one.

why not follow the advice given on the website .
Clearly they know that she will need her passport they give appointments so expect they will have a way of copying passport and returning it whilst decision is being made .
Just follow advice given and if you have concerns call them
