South African: Tier 2 (General) and dependant mom

Post by jasey » Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:40 am

Hi all

I'm from South Africa and will be applying for a Tier 2 (General) visa soon, but want to take my single dependent 66 year old mother with me when I eventually move.

Is there a way for me to apply for my visa including/and hers at the same time, so that we are both able to leave SA at the same time, when we're both officially welcome to enter the UK?

Also, would she able to work once we're settled in the UK?

Thanks very much for your help!

Yesterday you were going to apply for a Tier 1 visa, today you are applying for a Tier 2. Do you even know the requirements?

And then there is no way that you can bring your mom with you - a dependent can only be a partner or a child. The earliest that your mother can join you in the UK is once you have settled (after 5 years if your visa allows this).
