CAN SPOUSE and CHILDREN in abroad apply ILR directly

Post by satish333 » Sun Jan 29, 2012 8:10 pm

Hello All,

1. I got Naturalization as a British Citizen 2 years ago.

2. I got married 12 years ago and lived with my spouse more than 4 years in home country and we are still in relationship.

3. My spouse and children are living abroad and my self in UK. I visit my family once in a year for the last 7 years.

4. we have 2 kids with one of them I lived more than 4 years and with other I lived about 3 years.

5. I am planning to get them here for settlement in UK.

6. Can they (Spouse + children ) apply for ILR directly rather than applying for settlement Visa from abroad ?

7. If the ansewr to question 6 is YES then do they need to take Life In the UK test before apply ILR ? If so how can they
do it from abroad ?

i am very thankful for your help in advance

Visiting them once a year may not be sufficient for wife.
Moreover, KOL (only normally available in the UK) is also required for spouse visa with ILE endorsement.
