Where did you hear this from?

Is your question based on a rumour or on fact?

When and if any changes are made, the actual changes will be disclosed by UKBA. In the interim, no one can know for sure who will be affected until after this your "supposed" change occurs.

I suggest you keep checking the UKBA website for any new developments and not to rely on hearsay.

If and when these changes are implemented, then and only then will we know exactly who will be affected.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think the "proposed change" will affect migrants already in the UK. In addition, from what I gathered, it seems the "proposed change" may apply to only new Tier 2 migrants coming in.

Like I said, I don't know for sure, but that's my personal opinion.

Just relax and hopefully everything works out well :)

There's no point worryiing about something that hasn't happened yet.

I understand your concern, but worrying about it won't change it. The rule may be passed eventually if the government feels it is the right thing to do.

All we can do is to hope for the best.

If I correctly undestand from this link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... -2-5-1-elr
people who will apply for extension of their Tier 1 after 6 April 2012 will be requested to retake English tests. What do you think?

Hi ,
Will this change impact people going for ILR from Tier1 or Tier2?

Thanks

I thought for T1 extension, above new requirements do not apply if English language points were awarded from UK qualification on the initial application.

Can any senior members clarify this.

I assume this is for T1 extensions? :

Claiming points
131. An applicant meets the English
language requirement, without the need to
provide evidence, if he/she was last given
permission to stay in the United Kingdom:
• under Tier 1 (General) and is applying for
an extension of leave to remain; or
• as a Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
participant under the Immigration Rules
which came into force on 5 December
2006 and is applying for an extension of
leave to remain under a Tier 1 category.

We have to wait and see what happens over course of next couple of weeks.
With intorduction of BRP at the end of month, there could be some other chnage as well.
Difficult to speculate without any official information
