Another Schengen Visa Question ...

Hello All,

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide me with some guidance around the Schengen Visa.

I have been living / working in the UK for the past 6 years and just acquired my ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) in the UK recently.

During my time in the UK, I have had the need to travel to Europe before and each time got myself a Schengen Visa (Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria and Germany) and I also have an American Business Visa.

Now that I have my ILR, I would certainly like to travel more often to Europe for vacations and so forth and understand that I can apply for multiple entry Schengen Visa.

The question I have is which Embassy is most likely to grant me a multiple entry visa. I've head that the French Embassy is best known for this.

Also, once I say have a multiple entry visa from an Embassy, I understand that this means, that my first trip must be to that country, but does it mean that subsequent trips can be to any of the Schengen states?

Can't advise on your first question, though your good immigration history should work in your favour when making an application for multiple entry. My suggestion would be to apply for a multiple entry visa to the embassy of the next country you need to visit.

To answer your second question, yes - your visa is valid for the entire Schengen area, so you would be free to travel around as you wish.
