Question on BIOMETRIC card

Dear All,

I am scheduled to the fast track service on 13 of March to extend my TIER 1 Visa.
I dont have biometric residence permit yet.

The question is, can I get biometric permit earlier, lets say in February, prior to Visa extention. My current visa is Valid until April 2012.

Why am I asking this, because i plan to travel to another country on 30th of March and i would need at least two weeks to obtain another visa.
As I can see from other posts, it takes up to 10 days to get biometric card..

As I understand biometric card replaces the Visa itself and i cant apply for european business visa, until I get biometric card.. am i right???

The biometric card is a residence permit. It is only issued once your applicationis granted, therefore the answer is no, you cannot get the biometric card before you have even made your application.

Greenie,

My assumption was that BRP is issued in addition to Vignette in the passport, Is that true?
Or Do you just get a BRP with absolutely no other entry in passport?

I have another question, that means there will be no UK visa stamped in passport?
Because if i had visa in passport i would be able to apply for european visa without biometric card and will safe time..

the BRP is the visa (residence permit). they do not put a separate permit in your passport.
