Sponsoring Widowed father - UK ILR Visa

Post by sanjayrocks » Sun Feb 05, 2012 1:09 am

Dear all,

My partner has ILR in UK. She is working full time as a manager. Her father is living alone in china and he is 65+ years old. She has been sending him money for around 1.5 years to support him financially as the pension he receives is not sufficient to cover the flat rent+food+other expenses.

1) Is there a way to sponsor her dad(can she apply her father for ILR) to uk under the circumstances that he is living alone their and financially not in a good position. Also he has some severe health problems where he has undergone few surgeries where she has all the proof from the doctors.

2) Back in UK, we are in a position to show proof that she is financially able to support him. Since she and I living together can i provide my financial details as well to support the application.

3) Also regarding the accommodation, if her dad comes here he will be staying with us. So I assume we should provide evidence of suitable accommodation. We do have a tenancy agreement but it doesn't say how many rooms in the flat. (usually in tenancy agreements number of rooms are not mentioned)

So what is the process for proving that her dad can stay with us in our property without any issue. What kind of document should be provide. Please note we are on rented property.

Will the home office visit the Property to evaluate the property size? Or can we provide a letter from the Estate agency stating each room size (1 Double/1 Single/Spam/Bathroom etc...)

Many Thanks
