I am interested in hearing the experiences of others who had obtained immigration advice and services from a provider, in good faith, but where the provider was later found not to be registered (or registered exempt) with the OISC, or otherwise regulated, and who have taken this up with the OISC or have already submitted a formal complaint to the OISC, either as the client, themselves, or on behalf of the client, or as a concerned member of the public.
What action did the OISC take and how long did they take to complete their complaints procedure? What was the outcome? Were they satisfied with the outcome and the way in which their complaint was handled?
Are the OISC more likely to take action against an unregistered advice and service provider who has charged fees for his/her services than an unregistered adviser who has undertaken casework but not charged the client a fee?
