British Citizenship application - stuck with requirement

Post by siiido112 » Tue Feb 21, 2012 12:04 am

Hi all, I hope you can help with the following:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... /borninuk/

I am in the process of applying for a British passport under the conditions that my parents aren't British citizens, that I was born in the UK and have never left the country (I am 22).

One of the requirements that I am having difficulty in answering is:

“have spent no more than 90 days outside the United Kingdom in each of the first 10 years of your life.”

Are there others who have applied for citizenship under this criterion and are able to provide ideas on potential sources that will account for the above?

I plan on visiting my nursery/primary school soon to see what information they can provide (if any), but IF the school years allowed a period of more than 3 months (summer) holiday, am I likely to have to provide further information?

Also, will a letter confirming my attendance at the school between years xxxx-xxxx be sufficient as proof, or will it need to be more detailed?

[I’m attempting to gather as much information as possible before sending off my application].

Thank you!

Do you still have any passports from the first ten years of your life?

I do not!

My parents were over stayers for a number of years (this issue has been rectified and everyone has Indefinite Leave to Remain).

Whilst they wait for the 5 years to pass (should they wish to become British citizens), I've been alerted that it is possible for me to make this application now.
