Family visitor visa query

Post by DesiBoys » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:30 am

Hi,

I am planning to invite my parents to the UK from India in the month of May.

My current leave to remain (Tier 1) expires on 6th Aug 2012, which is less than 6 months from current date. I was planning to apply for an early extension by end of Feb but as it seems from the current timescales that I might not get my new extended visa until april end or even later.

Can someone please tell that if my parents apply for their visa in march with travel dates as May 2012 - Jul 2012 and my leave expiring on 6th Aug (which is less than 6 months), will they get the visa? or do I need to 6 months valid visa?

Thanks

The dates and timescales will not be a hindrance to a visa application.

So do you mean they can apply the visa in March against my current leave to remain until Aug 2012 and may still get a visa ?

The family visit visa is given for 6 months which mean they would get it from mar 2012 till sep 2012. This is beyond my current visa date.

Do they need to mention that I have applied for extension in their application?

The family visit visa is given for 6 months which mean they would get it from mar 2012 till sep 2012. Yes but that's because all visit visas are issued with a validity of six months and if theirs were issued they would even be entitled to remain for that period.

Do they need to mention that I have applied for extension in their application? If they are making a truthful declaration about their intentions it's not relevant to mention this because they are applying on the basis that their visit will be until July which is within the period of your current residence.
