Tier 2 (ICT) Dependant Query

I had a query regarding UK Tier 2 (ICT) Dependant visa. Can someone help me out with this?

I am married and currently working in India, and my wife is on Tier 2 (ICT) visa in UK till Aug 2012. Her company would be extending her stay till Dec 2012 and she would be getting the CoS till Dec very soon.
Can I apply for Dependant visa now ? How many months of visa validity should be there on the main applicant for the dependant to successfully apply for dependant visa?
