Naturalisation application and passport expiry

Post by manoj123 » Wed Feb 22, 2012 4:24 pm

Hi,

While I am preparing my naturalisation application to send via post, have noticed my Indian passport is due to expire on 07 May 2012. Obviously I have a choice to send naturalisation application through NCS: As I will be getting back the passport, renew Indian passport.

However wonder if I can send my application via post and apply for British passport directly or it would be illegal to have an expired Indian passport with an ILR?

I have no travel plans within the next 3/4 months though.

Many thanks for looking.

There is no requirement to have a valid passport if you don't need to travel.

So sending over my naturalisation application and apply for a British passport directly is the cost effective process then.
