IT Security Jobs (for CISSP)

Post by from_india » Wed Nov 01, 2006 1:57 pm

Hi All,

I am an HSMP holder. I am seeking a job in UK. I have a 7+ years IT experience. The experience is in development (C#.Net, C++) and in engineering of the Web Application Access Management product (SiteMinder). I also have experience in Web Services Security (almost 2 years). In addition, recently I obtained CISSP certification. I posses a Master of Computer Application post-graduate degree (equivalant to Master's in UK).

Q1. What kind (salary, roles and responsibilities, etc) of jobs could i get in UK with my experience?
Q2. When i search on JobServe site, there are a lot of jobs for CISSP holders, but almost all of them are in networking (firewalls, lrouters, etc) domain. Now the problem is that I dont have any experience in Networking domain. So given this limitation, how do I leverage the most of my CISSP credential?
Q3. I would be looking the jobs in Identity and Access Management, Web Services Security. Are there enough jobs in these domains?

Any advice, comments, suggestions will be highly appreciated!

THanks!

presume these multiple post are a result of successful time-outs that you have experienced !

coming to your topic,

for salary check: http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk/
RE: certain skills that you are lacking, it doesnt really matter as long as you demonstrate your ability to learn to your prospective employer.

good luck.

Vin,

1. Yeah, the multiple posts were due to the Inernal Server error that was thrown. After noticing this, I deleted the other same posts. :-)
2. Thanks for the web site; it helps.
3. Fianlly, thanks for the kind encouraging words.

** Any other comments/suggestions/advice Please?!!
