Amend job title in COS note

Hi Expert,

I was not aware of the SOC technical stuff and after reading here found it could be serious issue.

In my extension I use Job title as "Grid Computing support officer" and same title was used for first entry clearance application in 2009. Same job title and salary (34K) is/was mentioned in offer letter which I send with application.

HR said they chose, SOC code 3131 – Technicians, IT operations.

In COS application notes they also put the job title as (Grid Computing support officer)


After my request they had put another note saying "Please amend job title to system administrator which is most appropriate job description to match Occuptional code 3131"


Please expert advise if this right way.

I am having bio-metric appointment on 15th March and visa expired on 13 Feb.

You can also use the sponsor note field if there is any additional information that you need to state with regard to the migrant and/or the CoS. Any information entered in this field that would lead to a change in the consideration of an application for leave or entry clearance, or any changes to the main criteria for an application under that tier / category, will be rejected."

So I think in note he can mentioned about job description in note ??
