I applied for Tier 1 extension for myself and my 2 dependants (wife and 2 year old kid). I received three separate biometric invitation letters with separate barcodes for three of us. So does this mean we can go to post office and provide biometrics?

My confusion is the Biometric guidelines which states "The option of attending a Post Office branch is currently available only to single applicants aged 16 or over."

if the letter says you can - and you have a participating PO near you - why not go and see if they can enrol your biometrics there. If they can't do it make an appointment.

Based on the previous experiences and UKBA guidance, applicants with dependants can't provide biometrics at the post office. Recently some people have stated that this has changed, so the best way to check would be to call up the post office and check.

Even better if you live near one of the participating post offices, just visit and check.

Thanks all for the quick response. As suggested I would check at one of the near by Post Office to confirm if they can enrol our biometrics as we have separate letters.

I think you should be OK. I was told by a OISC registered immigration agency that from 1st Mar onwards, people with dependant applicants(postal) are now being sent barcoded invitation letter for biometric enrolments at PO.

The above has not been published yet on UK BA website and that's what QuickSam is referring to.

Also the new PBS dependant form(e.f 14th Feb) does have some notes regarding biometric enrolment of dependants at PO.

I checked with one of the central london post office and they admitted they are entertaining family biometrics now.

yes they are since 1st March. the letter should say this.

Yes, it is mentioned in the letter. But the new issue that I am facing now is that in my kid's biometric letter it has been mentioned "No Responsible Adult Found". As per a post by one of the fellow member, post office is unable to scan the barcode in such letters.

@Somudro, I had mentioned my name (main applicant) as responsible adult in the application form. But still they have mentioned as "No responsible adult found" in the biometric letter.
