German Work Permit and EU travel

Partner is visa national living with me in UK on student visa, but now in Germany on uni placement for a year under a work permit.

I think someone here said it would cover for travel to other EU mainland states and the woman in the visa office in hamburg said it would.

But we are now fretting a bit since it doesn't say on the visa/WP that such travel is possible. Doesn't say not either!

Anyone know the socre here cos we wanna meet in Vienna at xmas!

The answer is yes. A German residence visa will entitle your girlfriend to travel to any other Schengen country without requiring an additional Schengen visa.
