Thank you for your reply. So I suppose if there's no set minimum, it'll be hard to tell whether the applicant has sufficient funds in their account then.

Can someone please confirm whether the above will be OK?

OK, please ignore all previous questions, as they're no longer relevant.
What I'd like to know please, is:
A friend would like to come to the UK as a general visitor and my BIL is sponsoring him and PAYING for his travel costs etc . As such, my BIL has sent bank statements to the applicant to support his application.
However, the bank statements that were sent to the applicant are now about 2 month sold. So he has 6 bank statements belonging to my BIL, but the latest is a December statement.
Would this be OK for him to submit?
Or does he need to have up-to-date statements? And must my BIL'S Statements that he's sending to the applicant be Original?
(Basically do the sponsor's statements have to be original, or does it only have to be the applicant's own statements that have to be original??)
I hope to hear something soon as it's urgent.
Thank you in advance.

Asalam alaikum.
I'm really sorry but I don't know the answer to this. I have no experience of visitor visas and would just be guessing which doesn't help you I'm afraid. If it was my application I would submit more recent statements.
All statements including the sponsor's have to be original or stamped by the issuing bank to verify them.
