HSMP for UK Graduates :?:

Post by sheedatali » Wed Nov 15, 2006 2:17 am

Hi,
I do not post a lot but this forum helps a lot in getting information which one would spend hours in finding in IND website. I have recently finished my MSc from UK and currently i am on SEGS. I am really confused about the new point system and would it affect me in a good or bad way. Here is my situation as i understand it,

MSc from UK university = 35
Been in UK from over 5 years = 5
Age 28 = 20 points (or is it 10 points ?)
Earnings for last 6 months = 13000 (hoping to go up to 18000 before i consider making application)
Points of earnings in my case ???

I am having really hard time in finding a proper job in UK market and none of the employers is ready to sponsor for work permit. Obviously the ultimate goal is to stay in UK and get ILR, would i qualify for HSMP if i apply based on the above criteria? how long the first approval will be for me? 1 Year or more ? Is HSMP the right choice for me as lot of members are posting that as you stay longer in UK the chances for extending HSMP reduces. Should i try harder for work permit? Please give your advice. Thank you.
