sending the post in another country?

Post by gulgon » Mon Jul 26, 2004 5:56 pm

Dear Friends,

1) I give my address in Turkey in the HSMP app form, but I am planning to send it while I am in Belgium... I will use Belgian DHL to send the app, do you think it would be ok?

2) After they decide on my application, if I am not in Turkey but in another country, do you think may I ask the HSMP guys to send the decision letter & documents to another country? Or during their evaluation may I change my address?

As you can see, I am unfortunately too mobile in the coming months...!

Thanks a lot for answering and sharing your experiences.

you should not apply from a country where you are on temporary visa. Its good that though you are in belgium you gave turky address. you will get all your mails in turky. If successful you can apply for EC from your home country. In-country people may have some problem in traveling but you can be mobile :)

yes that is right but in the HSMP form it asks

section 1 contact details (payment slip page)
country of current legal residence (HSMP form 1. page)
current address (HSMP form 1. page)

I am confused, if I say belgium as current residence then I also have to give current address in belgium! and then to which address the home office will send the decision letter?? always the address in the contact details or the current address?

I have the same situation, my contract ends on the 15th of September and I expect my documents to be considered at the end of September or later.

So I will leave the country before and worry how to arrange reception of these documents and EC procedure in my native country. Any ideas ?
Good luck !

yes it is quite confusing! I was planning to write my address in my country in all address sections including current legal residence but since I will show my belgian bank account statement, I thought the caseworker would be suspicious and confused!

Hey HSMP guys reply really so quickly! :P I sent an email 1 hour ago and here is their reply:

Your address is taken from the application form in page 1. We will
write to this address if we require further information or to give you your
decision. You may contact us to change your address at any time, but we can only have one address at any one time.
Regards
HSMP TEAM

So satisfactory answer?

Great, guldon !

But what do you think, if you aplly from Belgium, will you be able to go through EC procedure in both countries, Belgium and Turkey as well.

Or that's true only if you will be still in Belgium on residence permit at that time ?
Good luck !

I called the British embassy in Belgium and asked them if I can apply EC with an HSMP approval letter addressed to Turkey. And they said YES! I think it is in the discretion of each embassy.

Indeed I will leave belgium in one month and I can go back to turkey or to slovakia for a job... so I think with an approval letter addressed to turkey I can still make an EC app anywhere I am resident... but it is best to ask the embassy..
