ONLINE EC application: separate form for EACH dependents?

Post by lanwarrior » Mon Nov 27, 2006 9:35 pm

Hi all,

I am applying for EC through the BritainUSA website at http://www.britainusa.com/visas/article ... 8&L1=41000 (scroll down and click "Click here to apply online").

I noticed that the online application doesn't have an entry to put the dependent information (spouse, child, etc.).

However, the actual form (in PDF) that is available online for download (not file directly online) at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front ... 4919208354 (click on VAF-1 Non-settlement) DOES have a section to enter dependent information.

If I apply online, then it seems that I have to file separate application 3 times (myself, spouse, and child), which may confuse the Immigration Officer when cnsidering the EC applications, since he/she may think that these 3 applications have nothing to do with each other since there is only ONE HSMP approval (under my name).

IN this case, can anyone who have applied for EC (especially from USA) provide some guidance on the above?

.... (click on VAF-1 Non-settlement) DOES have a section to enter dependent information.
Where? Having just checked the form VAF1 .... which part of the form are you referring to?

And do note that at Q3.5 it states .... "(If yes, please note that he/she should complete a separate application form)"

Separate applications required in respect of each separate individual. And yes ... three application fees payable.

A few years ago it was the case that children could be included in a parent's passport. However Governments have tended to move away from that. In those days the predecessor to the VAF1 ... the IM2A ... did allow children to be included on a parent's application form ... if the child(ren) were included in parent's passport.

Section 3 and onward, where I can enter my spouse and child name. The online form doesn't have that.

I don't mind paying separate fees for each applicant, as there will be 3 EC issued anyway. However, I am wondering about the ONLINE FORM, since I can't put my spouse and children details.

Thus, if anyone who have applied before can confirm that they can use the ONLINE form 3 times (or more depending on the number of dependents) without issue, then I'll do so.
