IMPORTANT QUERY FROM INDIA

Post by nikunj_dal » Sat Dec 02, 2006 1:19 pm

Hi, Greetings, this is my first post in this forum.

Am a Chartered Accountant from India. So will be claiming 35 points (masters degree) as per the new rules.
My queries are as below.
1) Should i need to get my CA degree evaluated by NARIC to see if it is equivalent to UK standards.
2) I dont want to appear for IELTS. I can provide a letter from Mumbai University stating the course to be thaugt in ENGLISH.

Do i require a letter from CA institute also regarding the English lan. requirement.

Know my mail is bit lengthy but definately something which can help me and others like me on this forum.

Awaiting soonest reply from the experts.

Thanx & regards
ND

Hi ND,

Would suggest you think twice before applying for HSMP, the main reason being the ridiculous behaviour of UK government towards skilled immigrants. The government keep on changing policies at their will without giving due consideration to the genuine difficulties that the immigrants may face due to the unjust changes in immigration policy. It really depends upon what your priorities are. If you just want to have a quick stint in the UK may be for a couple of years and can come over to UK with a mindset that you may be forced to go back to your home country (b'coz of further policy changes) well before you had anticipated, then by all means go ahead and apply for HSMP. Behaviour of the UK government in past 8-9 months suggest that they do not intend sticking to their policies and can abruptly change it whenever they feel so.
I myeslf am a immigrant and have been affected by unjust recent changes in policies and hence thought to give you a word of caution.

All the best ..

I encore dnicky's views. Do compare options with other countries and consider the one which gives you a more stable status and do not change at a whim or tabloid pressure.

I agree with above views. UK is not a paradise and your dream may soon turn to nightmare.
Currently, the ONLY people who can benefit from HSMP are who already in UK under different category (eg. WP holder), have a good paying job AND can get ILR within the initial 2 year period of HSMP. There is no guarantee that you can again qualify under HSMP after your initial grant period is over.
