Family visit for mother in law

Post by Mumof2 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:32 pm

Hi, i would like to write an invitation letter for my mother in law and was wondering if anybody could help with a template?

My husband is here on DLR visa article 8. I was wondering if it would be better for me to do the invitation or would it be better coming from him? We saw my MIL in January but i would like her to come and spend time with her granchildren (3 and 6months) and just to show her around because shes not been here before. She will be staying at our 2 bed flat which we rent. She has about 1000gbp in her account so we will be submitting her bank statements and my her eldest son will also be submitting his bank statemnts as he will pay for her trip as he is quite well off.

What other paperwork will be needed? Also she is 56, divorced and doesnt work but all her other children (7 + 6grandchildren) all live there so would that be a sufficient reason to put for her having sonething to go back to?
Also in the application form what is meant by dependents? Children under 16 or all the children that live with her?

Sorry for the long post last question is my brother in law is considering coming with her so would he require a seperate invitation or would both names bevput on the same one?
