Family visit

Post by asorts » Mon Jun 11, 2012 7:07 pm

Hi everyone,

I just need some advise.

I'm planning to invite my mum to come and visit in August.

I am on FLR and my husband is a BC.

1. Can we both send a joint invitation letter(i.e an invitation letter signed by both of us).

This is because he has the funds to sponsor her in his account.I also have some savings but this is not enough to sponsor the whole trip.

2. Also he has just become selfemployed(has a company-he is the sole owner) and as of now,has made no tax returns. Are we able to use his statement of account which is in the name of the company.

Looking forward to your responses.

It does not matter who signs the letter or acts as sponsor. You are not considered as a separate financial entity to your partner. If it were otherwise, housewives (or generally people who don't work and stay at home while their partner works) would be unable to sponsor their family to visit the UK.

Thanks Lucapooka.

Do you have any advise on the second question?
