What can I change Discretionary Leave to?

I applied for indifinite leave in August 2000 and it was refused. We appeal and the grounds that I was a dependent and my dad would be able to support me if I leave the country. However they granted me discretionary leave in jun 2004 has a dependent of my dad.
Now I am married and has a mortgage my circumtances have changed. But the Imm rules doesn't allowed me to change discretionary leave to spouse visa.

Are there any alternatives leaves I can change to?

Because I check the immigration rules (hc 538)and stated that it does allow discretionary leave to be change to spouse visa.
Also I cannot apply for long leave because I am 54 days short of the 10 years

Now I am just wondering if there are any alternative leave I can apply for.
