Tier1 Gneral Extension - Points from Income earned.

Post by ARUNLAL » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:05 pm

Hi

My Tier1 General Visa is getting expired on Nov 5th.

I came UK this Jan 2012 and currently working as an IT consultant in UK.
(before that I was not working for last 4 months so no earnings).

For my visa extension I need to gain 20 points from my perious earnings. By the time my visa valid I can show 10 months Income (Jan 12 - Oct 12)

If I am able show my income from last month ie october 2012 , then I am in short of 1500 pounds to earn enough points.

1. Can I apply for my visa Extension one week before it get expired ?.
- PEO by date Nov 1 2012 (4 DAYS BEFORE MY EXPIRY DATE).

2. Is there any way out there to show extra 1500 pounds , as my earning ?.

Please advice me .

1. You can apply anytime by 23.59.59 hours on the date of expiry of your current leave.
2. Yes, by earning the income that you are short of through additional job, part-time job, self-employment, etc.

Thanks for the reply.

The case I am working on some part time or week end job and earning 1500 in 4 months along with my permanet job.

1. Can I show Income which I earned from part time job -cash depost 1500 pounds in bank account .(500 each month).
2.Do I need to inform my current employer that I am doing part time job
(there is is clause in my offer letter telling I should not work for any other employer).
3. Is there any place I need registor ?.
4. How do I pay tax for this earning ?.

1. Yes, if you have the necessary documentary evidence(s).
2. Not unless your employment contract restricts you from doing nothing but the job with your employer.
3. HMRC if you undertook this job as a sole trader, Companies House if you undertook this as a director of a limited company that you are a controlling shareholder of. Nowhere if you do such jobs as an employee.
4. Contact HMRC if such jobs are not undertaken as an employee.
