UK Citizenship Application

Dear Vinny,Jambo,sushdmehta and other senior members

I received ILR on 24th Aug 2011 and I would like to know am i eligible to apply for UK Citizenship on 23rg Aug 2012 as this month has 29 days.

I have been staying in UK since November 2006 and had spouse dependant visa since nov 2006.

My Old passport which had UK Spouse Dependant Visa was lost as my home got burglared in Oct 2010 and got police report and new passport in Nov 2010 and subsequently got Biometric resident in Nov 2010 and ILR in Aug 2011.I would be grateful to senior members if thye advice me is it ok if i keep my travel dates as I remember my exit and entry dates.I have copy of my old passort which has uk spouse dependant visa.

The requirement is 12 months holding ILR/PR. It doesn't matter that this year is a leap year.

With regards to your passport, you should be OK. The HO can verify the travel dates if they wish. Do you have copies of all pages of the passport? You might be required to provide some other evidence of your stay in the UK.

Thank you for your reply.I will apply on 24th Aug 2012.

I have passport copy of my old passport that shows spouse dependant visa.I dont have all pages of my old lost passport.

I have p60 for 2007,2008,2009,2011, and pay slips for 2007,2008,2009,2010 and 2011.

I have job offer letters for five years from 2007 feb till july 2011.will that help.

Thank you for your reply.I will take original P60 and Payslips when i apply through NCS in Aug 2012.

I also have my eticket confirmation of my travel dates from Nov 2006 till now and will that help also.I have been outside uk only for 50 days in total from nov 2006 till now.

is it ok to apply through NCS on 24/8/2012 as I have received ILR on 24/8/2011 or i have to wait after 24/8/2012.

Does the other parent also have ILR? The HO would expect the other parent to hold ILR in your son's case.

You should be able to apply for registration for your child when you apply for naturalisation. See more in the last paragraph of Q1 in FAQ - Most common questions - Children.

Yes. NCS will probably charge extra for going through another application in the appointment.

Yes. I'm assuming he is less than 13 years old and has been living in the UK for a while (there was a recent forum member that his sons application got rejected as they have not been living in the UK for long. Although there isn't a specific residence requirement, this type of application is at discretion of the HO so it depends on how they evaluate your son's case).
