suspended convictions/ 1-130

Post by milly » Fri Jan 05, 2007 12:42 am

I am GC holder and can apply for citizenship in October 07.Got my GC through daughter who is citizen.Marrage to husband after she was 18 so she could not sponser him.I then sponsered husband. My husbands 1-130 has been approved and he has been given a visa number. Immigration are now waiting for us to fill out final paperwork and interview.
Our problem is that he has some minor convictions( which were all suspended) showing on his police data report that happened between 1972 and 1975. They are classed as spent according to UK law.
Will he be refused at his interview because of these?
Is there anything we can do?
Please help with advise if you can

Did you already send in your husband's police certificate (certificate of good conduct)? Your husband's convictions are going to show up there, regardless of whether they are "spent" or not. The fact that a conviction is "spent" is of no importance to US immigration.
