help for counting absences for ILR

Post by YZNott » Thu Aug 16, 2012 3:24 pm

I am a work permit holder and 5 years visa will be expired Jan 2012. I am planning to apply ILR by that time. During these 5 years I only worked for one employer, a university, as lecturer. However, the absences during 5 years is 273 days which is more than 180 days limit. The absences are mostly 5-15 days business trips (one 20 days and one 34 days) which are as my duty of the employment. I only took 86 days paid annual leaves outside UK during these 5 years. Do you think I will be fine for the ILR application with the supportive letter from my line manager which will certify those short business trips are related to my job duties? Many thanks in advance.
