options if you cant get ILR

Hi guys, I'm a student who is in the final year of school and I'm wondering which course to take at university, Law or Anthropology. However I do not posses ILR and am unlikely to because although Ive been a Uk student for over 10 years now, I was absent from the country for a period greater than 18 months. What Im concerned about is what happens after I get my degree and if I have no ILR, am I forced to leave the UK? This honestly cannot be correct because the UK is my home and I have spent the majority of my life here. My family have no UK connections they just managed to immigrate me out of my home country to come here. I am honestly vary confused and need some help.
