UK Family vistor visa for my mother in Law

Post by majumdar.anamitra7 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 5:40 pm

Hi All,

My wife is expecting and her due date is 10th March 2013. I am planning to bring my mother in law from India at around Feb 2013. Wanted to know what all documents should be submitted for her family visitor visa? I will be sponsoring her and she will be travelling alone.

The list of docs which I know are:

a) Copies of my last 6 months bank statement. I can provide my UK saving account bank statement having a balance of around £4000.
b) Copy of my rental agreement : I have the rental agreement but this contains only my name.
c) Address Proof Copy : I have the copy of my council tax bill but this contains only my name.
d) Copies of my and my wife's passport and visa.
e) Copies of our marriage certificate
f) Invitation Letter
g) Copy of my employment letter
h) Original Last 3 months payslips.
i) Printout of the Completed Online Visa Application Form
j) Copy of my last 3 years P60 slips.
k) My mother in Law's original passport
l) Copy of my father in Law and Mother in Law's 6 months bank account statements.
m) Copy of Property paper's with my mother in Law's name on it.
n) My mother in law's passport size photos.

We are planning to get her visa applied at around November 2012. My Visa will expire in 16 Aug 2013. Are all the above documents sufficient ?

Hi, I have called my parents and in-laws 3-4 times separately. Your documents are fine. One caution: Never state in your invitation letter that you are calling someone to look after the baby. People visas have been refused. Just state they are visiting as tourist. The documents i gave were:

- 3 Salary slips and supporting bank statement.
- Employer letter
- Council Tax Letter
- Invitation letter stating dependant is coming on tourist visa and i will be bearing all logding and food expenses.
- Copy of your and wife passport and Visa pages

Best of luck

Sorry forgot to mention, the documents mentioned in previous reply were sent from UK by me. Yes, the person from India should also submit following documents:

- No objective certificate if working in government role.
- Any Fixed deposit in there name to demonstrate they have adequate funds
- If there is a property, then property evaluation papers are good. These documents are required to demonstrate that people have property in India and have good money and they do not intend to settle in UK.

Kind Regards

Please can someone help with my query - Thanks

I am also in a process of getting my parents visa for my wif's pregnancy.. please can you advise did you send original bank statements and passport?

I have another question - my current accoount bank statements are alwalys in overdraft due to a lot of outgoings but I have about £4500 in my savings accounts - do I need to include both bank statements one showing my salary (current account) and other account to showing funds available in savings OR saving account statement with employer letter is enough to suffice?

Please advise..

Thanks
Romila
