VAF2 - Section 7 - How to fill in?

Hi Everybody

I was just looking for some guidance on filling in section 7 of the VAF2 form (as part of an application for a spouse visa for my wife).....

Parts 7.9 - 7.15 seem to only ask for information on a single previous visa application - (i.e 7.9 "where was your previous application made?")- should we simply fill this section in referring to the last application that we made which was refused a few months ago?

If there were any unsuccessful applications prior to that should they be added somewhere or is the most recent application what this section is referring to?

Any guidance would be really appreciated as I have searched the web and the forums here and so far not found any info!

If there is insufficient space to answer any question there is some "white space" to use elsewhere on the form.

Do ensure a full disclosure of this important information, and certainly do not think that past refusals automatically count against the applicant. For example if the refusals were for visitor visas and were declined for lack of "reason to return", well as regards a settlement visa application that ground does not apply .... but the fact that VV applications were made certainly is good proof the parties knew each other at that point in time, when the applications were made.

The difficulty is that my wife had been here on a student visa and she was refused a further student visa earlier this year. We appealed this hoping my divorce would come through in the mean time and enable us to get over to Kenya to get married there ASAP.

The appeal (rejected) was super quick, the divorce horribly slow to arrive.She ended up overstaying 4 months until leaving for Kenya 2nd September where we got married. We did however write to the H.O. through a lawyer to request a little extra time to return to Kenya, (lawyer said she needed to “clear up her affairs here before leavingâ€
