refused student visa

Post by sukhy » Fri Dec 29, 2006 11:53 pm

hi all needed help , browsed around and fell on this site and i instantly knew there would be someone out there tht can help me.
MY brother had applied for a student visa to canada from india. He had been accepted at a university in Toronto and all fees and paper work had been dealt with, the only thing left to do was to apply for the visa. He had applied and was refused on the gronds of insufficient funds which was a joke because my father has his own business and plenty of money to show. Unfortunately the indian embassy failed to recognise this and failed his visa. Now my question is can i as a canadian citizen go to my local MP and get him/her to write to the indian embassy to look at the refused visa applicaion again? I feel the indian embassy didnt access the application form properly at all. Am i able to do such thing?

Unless he has to move to Canada immediately for some reason (avoiding military duty or something like that), your best bet is to sponsor him to move to Canada as a permanent resident.
