Which Should be my country of residence 174 days in UK

Post by abhipkulk » Thu Jan 11, 2007 11:30 pm

Hi Guys ,
In 2006 Jan-Dec, I was in UK for 174 days on workpermit and remaining days in India. Now I am planning to apply for HSMP , I am wondering how I have to show my Income ie which is now my country of residence India or UK? :( . On pro-rata basis I qualify of Income points but if I have to take UK as my country of base for whole year and then of course I dont qualify ie my Indian Income for period of stay in India ie Jan06 to Jul-06 was approx 400,000INR and for Jul-Dec06 ie stay in UK I earned 17,500 Pounds .

1. What should be my country of residence
2. Can I show Income on pro-rata basis if I have to show UK as my country of residence and get points for income?

Cheers

A foolproof way of this would probably be mailing them - the email was mentioned here somewhere in forum and ask their opinion and attach that with your cover letter when filing.

If they dont answer send reminder and finally say you're invoking the freedom of information act ... that always seems to "get their knickers in a twist" ...

cheers....life is quite interesting and risky dodging caseworker bullets!

1) The country where you currently live.

2) If you have worked for the full 12 month period you can pro rata your income based on the country you have lived and worked in longest in the 12 month period.

With all the mess-up about HSMP going around, I would stick with the work-permit before jumping on to HSMP ( atleast for a while ).

Just an advice, though..
