Called HSMP on 12/01/2007 - They will send the documents today by Airmail. Talked to caseworker too, he says application has been 'approved'!

I called the same number mentioned in the website:

I told the person to connect to the caseworker. I asked caseworker that I cannot wait, please tell me the result. he said we dont tell on phone, I requested and he finally told it's approved.

Congratulation on your success. I am also waiting for my documents which are on the way to me alongwith a decision letter. I called H.O. a couple of times to request them to let me know the outcome of my application on phone which they refused. Just wondering how did you manage to get your decision on phone as its not their policy to reveal the decisions on telephone.

Even I am surprised!

He was not willing to tell, but when I repeated that it will take two weeks for my documents to reach me, and it will become very difficult to wait for, please tell me the result.

Please advise, i have my form 16 from oct 2005 to march 2006, i have not claimed the ITR, i am planning to submitt 12 wage slips sealed and signed from my employer and orginal bank statement which i get quaterly, will that be sufficient,

I applied under the old rules in Dec 2003 and failed badly back then. I tried my luck under the new rules and claimed:

35 pts - LLM in UK
40 pts - earnings
5 pts - UK experience (my UK PG degree)
5 pts - Age (31 yrs)
Total - 85 pts claimed

I sent my pack - 18th Dec 2006
Ackowledged received - 19th Dec 2006
Approved - 9th Jan 2007
Received pack - 11th Jan 2007

I'm on a dependant's visa (my wife is doing a PhD) which expires in 2008. I initially came in as a student and switched to this visa so that I could work. I hope to switch in-country on that basis (original visa argument). I'm planning to go over the counter so that if they tell me I can't do it, I don't lose my money. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next phase of my life. Best wishes to yer'all chaps.

atlast i could get the HO calling. one lady answered the call and answered that my application has been assigned to caseworker but had not started working on it. i asked for courier pickup and she said to fax the request 114 207 6021. and for the time to process my application she said 5 weeks.
i would pray god to gimme some luck...

God! I am sorry to hear this Param. I think you would defn. have a scope in review. The reason of "your degree has not been obtained" seems most puzzling. That could only mean when literally translated that the degree is provisional or they misread it as a provisional degree and actual degree is yet to be vested.

And yes .... you are right HSMP Caseworkers are blind... or cross-eyed at best.

HI Guyz,

First of all Iam very sorry for Paramjit. Better Luck next time.

I would like to share some information which may help for all. When we apply for HSMP never give a little chance for them to reject because the people ( case workers ) are meant to follow certain criteria and if this this not fulfilled it is simply rejected with out second thought.

An example would be even an American has to submit proof of English Proficiency by a letter from university. Isnt it look funny !!!!!

when we submit for HSMP make sure to submit as many documents as possible to provide more evidence and which increases your chance of getting positive response.

An example for salary proof

1) submit min last 12 pay slips ( on company letter head is advantage)
2) submit min last 12 bank statments
3) submit your company letter with your yearly salary ( could be a reference letter from your company or contract)
4) Income tax returns

Points 1 2 3 shall give you postive feedback. Point 4 is must for people from India. ( no exemptions) with stamp and sign.

point 1 with out letter head & point 2 gives 0 value.

point 1 with out letter head & point 2 & point 3 & point 4 gives 0 Value .

Point 1 with out letter head but notarised also gives - marks.

An example to prove Degree qualification.

1) Degree or provisional certificate
2) Convocation certificate ( Degree awarded)

point 1 and point 2 give + feedback . Else 0 value .

additional to this NARAC certificate is +. Get your Narac certificate instead of giving reference number. They are not suppose to check, instead they will reject.

Bachelor degree from India can prove medium english ( Convocation certificate )
However Masters from any country have to prove Medium of English ( Letter from university) .

Finally translation. Even (non english) single document (single line) to be translated else - marks .

DOB can be your driving license or notarised passport copy (with DOB visible)

Sorry guys I wrote such a big mail because Iwish we avoid small mistakes and increase our chances of getting HSMP.

By the way my ref starts with 203*. Wish me best of luck.

Congrats. I just got my application refused based on not providing proof of exceptional circumstances for earnings. No one can really produce a tax return covering the exact period s/he is claiming unless it's within 3 months of the end of the financial year.
So, bro, what exactly did you use to prove your earnings?

My reference number is 2028XX and it still HAS NOT been assigned to a case worker. I would doubt that anyone with 203xxx would have been assigned if mine hasn't....hopefully they can get to my applicaiton by mid february.

I proved earnings by 4 different types of evidence;
1- payslips (I was missing 2 of the 12 required)
2- letter from employer (stating total gross paid)
3-tax returns (covering the period up to April 2006 hence the other evidence)
4- bank statements (covering relevant period)
