Naric Question Urgent Please please help :)

Post by markotsg » Mon Jan 15, 2007 4:45 am

Hey All

I have submitted my Naric request and received the letter that states that my New Zealand Degree is equivalent to UK's.

Do I have to pay and get the certificate of compatibility or the letter is sufficient?

in light of no-one else answering (and i'm just passing time at work)...

i didnt realise there is a seperate certificate.

I am positive the Letter (~£35) is sufficient.

Thats what i've sent (awaiting HSMP approval however) and others have had their application approved with just a letter.

You don't need to send either, the HO will check with NARIC. You only need to check with NARIC if you don't know whether it is equivalent or not.

what we really need is one thread with no other conversation, where people post their degree/institution and its UK equivalent as per NARIC, to give other people piece of mind before applying WITHOUT a NARIC letter.
Something that might take a few months to build up, but if stickied, would save a lot of the "is my degree on the database" queries.

That would be nice but it seems that caseworker discretion will be an issue. It seem to that some caseworkers are rejecting applcations that dont have a letter while others are prepared to check the database.

While a hassel, the safest way of being sure if to pay the cash and get teh letter. Certificate is however not required.
