Does my UK degree have to be a 3-year programme?

Post by sk2 » Tue Jan 16, 2007 2:38 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a question related to the English language requirement. Does the degree have to be a 3-year course in order to demonstrate the required knowledge of English?

I actually completed my first year of study in Malaysia, which was taught in English. Following my successful first year in Malaysia I gained a second year direct entry into the UK university and completed the remaining 2 years in the UK. I was awarded a Bachelor Degree by the UK university and a few years later I was awarded a PhD Degree from the same UK university.

I have a letter from the UK university confirming my Degree qualification, date of award and that the course was taught in English. Would this be acceptable as an evidence to support that I have a good knowledge of English?

Thanks alot.

sounds like u did 3 years for the Bachelors

a letter from Malaysian university confirming that 1st year was in English would prob be a good idea.
And submit any doco from the UK university stating they recognised your 1st year of studies at the Malaysian uni
