Hello everyone. I was just webbing around and got pointed here for help. I came in the uk in sep 96 on asylum. My case was refused sometimes in 2002. My Solicitor then wrote to the Home office for exceptional leave to remain but as it was those days...Home office didnt say anything. They never wrote back. In 2005 me and my partner applied for leave to remain and we got it through concession as we had a son. ILR was granted to us feb 2006. My son already has his british passport and my partner I reckon has to wait more as she arrived in the uk jan 2003. I have already done the life in the uk test and passed. This is my question in regard to the 5 year legal rule, the Home Office require me to show evidence of this. I do not have any evidence to this effect. My gut feeling is that I have always ben legal, I worked all that time, paid my taxes and all. Without this evidence to show that I was legal per the 5 year rule should I go ahead and send my naturalisation form or I have to wait until 2011 to try my luck? Thanks guys for your help
