Any advise on EEA2 form please

Post by stikman » Mon Jan 29, 2007 5:33 pm

Hy, I am about too send off my EEA2 form so I can hopefully stay with my parents in N.Ireland who Immigrated too the R.of Ireland about 4 years ago. I am 29 and have spent the last two years working in the uk on a holiday work visa. My dad has an Irish passport because his mom was Irish but according too their laws I cannot benefit from this because he did not apply for it until after I was born. They have now moved to the North, and hopefully I will have a bit more success up here. I was just hoping somebody could give me some advise on what immigration would be looking for in my letter of application, I'm a bit lost for words exept too say that I'm broke and living with and being supported by my dad. Any help would be appreciated.

Was your father's mother born in Ireland? If so you can apply for registration as an Irish citizen. For an EEA2 application the key things to demonstrate are that your father is exercising treaty rights (eg. by working or self-sufficiency) and that you are financially dependent on him.

Thanks for your advice smalldog :D Any chance I coulde send you my letter for an opinion before I send it off? I know it's a bit cheeky of me to ask, I'm just feeling a bit desperate, if I don't get this application I'm going to have too go home, probably for good :(
