Congrats!

Finally I've received my BRP Card this morning!

Applied after 5 yrs Work Permit.
5yrs same address,
5yrs same job.

App Type: set(O) +3 dependants (wife+2 kids)
App Submitted: 11.06.2012
Biometrics Attended: 11.08.2012
Card Received: 28.11.2012

Approval date on card is 26.11.12. That means card has been produced and delivered within 2 days.
I haven't received approval letter or my old passport yet, probably I'll receive them within 2-3 days.

I know that I'm one of the first Set(O)-June applicant who received the card. Hopefully this means they've started to response June applications.

Phoned up the mighty UKBA again today as it has been over 6 months now. The lady answered the phone sounded kind. But overall they have been brutal to me . But I had to be kind to the lady as she has nothing to do with it. She said pretty much nothing that I didn't know.
So , there really isnt a point in calling them,

Strange that some people say they dont get answers when calling the Home Office. When I called enquiring about my biometrics, the lady took my refernce number and checked and told me it was posted that day. So they are able to check things. BUT then again, I might have been lucky and got a very nice person

i have been a silent reader of this forum, but thought i would share my time line

Application sent: 29/05 (Set(0), 2 yr WP + 3 yrs Tier 1)
Acknowledgement letter : 06/06
Biometrics: Cant remember exact date but was 1st week of August
Approval Letter: Awaiting
BPR: Awaiting

Its over 6 months now, and it really is frustating. I wonder if ukba are still using stone age communication means i.e. if visa officer wants to get a document verified, he sits on a horse and starts his long travel to get the document verified

Called ukba to find out status and they gave me a very "big piece of information" that no decision has yet been made. I told the enquiry person that i already knew that no decision has been made and my application is under process I ended up getting more frustrated. wtf

Hi sheford - I have just mentioned that you included me to the October list, but I had submitted my application in August.

I called UKBA today to find out the likelihood date on receiving the BRP invitation and the lady told me that "Case is yet to be created". Well, UKBA definitely needs to review their process in handling the applications. I am happy that atleast they didn't tell me to shut up and will not respond until 6 months from the time of application.

Type of application: SET O (5 year work permit with 3 dependents)
Date of application : 10.10.12
Date of acknowledgement: 18.10.12

I believe this is just a standard procedure, they won't even look at your case if you haven't done your biometric enrolment.

Hi guys,
I hope this is not a stupid question. Does the receipt of a BRP invitation letter mean that your application is very genuine and receipt of an ILR is high? Or is it just a standard bug standards letter sent out despite how frivolous your claims are?

I applied for SET M by post on 24/07/12 and got an inivitation for BRP dated 17/09/12 , submitted Biometrics on 20/09/12 and still waiting.
I contacted by local MP by email and he responded with in 3 days by a letter which says that he has contacted the UKBA and no case worker has been assigned to my case yet.
He offered to write to some area immigration officer to ask for help.
I am not sure , this is already 5th Month and how long more, and as Christams is coming, that may be another excuse for delay as was the Olympics.
Not sure writing to MP again will be of any help?

I was cheeky and called HO this morning telling them that my application was over six months. The lady looked and said I applied on the 9th of June (i had always thought it was 15th) and that she can not access my data until on the 9th of December

She said to call back after on the 9th. So Monday morning, I'll call again...unless of course, they send my approval before then.

Today we have finally received our SET M visa.

Applied 20th July
Biometrics completed 20th September
Documents returned 4th december
awaiting BRP anyday

So happy we can now get a mortgage and get our lives back.
