hi i realy hope you can help me.. i am going to brasil in march to get married to my girlfriend, i will have my decree absolute on the 15th of march, if i have all the paper work how soon can i get married out there? also what paper work do i need ? and can i have the paper work translated over there in brasil ?. i have heard that if i have just been divorced i could have to wait as long as 12 months to be allowed to be married in brasil... any help please , many thaks

i think the chances of any of us knowing Brazilian marriage/immigration law is pretty slim. I suggest u contact a lawyer there.

Have you been on the Brasilian embassy website? There is a good document that states what you need to produce/do to get married in Brasil. http://www.brazil.org.uk/consulate/engl ... ge-faq.pdf

or if this link doesn't work go to brazil.org.uk and type in marriage in their search engine.

I believe you need to have the paperwork authenticated in the embassy in London before you go over (think cost is £12 per document) and then translated by a government approved translator (possibly once you are over there). But the embassy is really helpful.
