I need to apply for HSMP, currently on WP

I am currently on a WP for less than a year. I am planning to apply for HSMP. As per the new point system, I understand minimum eligibility is 75 points. Is this correct. Secondly in the last 1 year partly I have received my salary in India and partly in UK. So, what country Band will be considered? Is it necessary to go through a Solicitor or can I apply directly?
