Unique Problem

Post by flamenco » Thu Feb 08, 2007 6:52 pm

Hi all,

I have a problem which the forum members might be able to advise on. My application is in process and I have been made redundant by my ex-employer. I was intending to resign once my application is approved and EC is done. Would it have any impact on my application or EC in the second stage?

From your message, it appears that you are an out of country applicant. You changing job or being made redundant will have no impact on the decision made on your HSMP application.

Thank you Webhunter for your prompt response. Yes I am an out of country applicant. I am just a little concerned about the EC stage of the application where in the VAF1, I would have to give information about my employer. Can I give the name and contact number of my ex-employer? If yes, what if they make a check with the employer? If they come to know about the fact that I am no longer working for this employer, wouldn't it effect the decision?

that should not be a problem , as long as teh period you have claimed to be working there and the other details provided are correct there will be absolutely no problem as the work experience is no more counted ....

So take it easy and relax ... everything will be fine ... :-)

you can get another job so that you will be in an employment when applying for EC if your HSMP application is successful because when you are applying for EC, the embassy may want to contact ur employer. it wudn't be nice for them to be told that you've been made redundant

True but in anyways you can always state that you have quit your job and you are all ready to move to UK :-)

Its not a compulsion though .... ;-)

Thank you every1 for your response. One more point that I want to clarify is that in VAF1, they ask for the employer information. Should I give this info about my ex-employer? Wouldn't it constitute mis-representation as I am not employed by this company anymore? Should I disclose the fact during EC that I am no longer working for this employer?

Help Needed

Post by flamenco » Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:30 am

Dear Forum members, please can you give your opinion on this issue as it is worrying me now. I am waiting for my decision letter which I am very optimistic about. However, I am not sure about EC stage as I am no more working with the employer I mentioned in my application. Thanks for your guidance
